This is how your SOLARWATT Battery vision is put together

The top pack is the backbone of your home battery. This base pack connects the home battery to your household power grid. It provides intelligent control, safety and cooling for the remaining modules.

The top pack safely seals the Battery at the top, so the home battery can be placed indoors or outdoors. Here, as in the other packs, your energy is temporarily stored.

The middle packs, together with the top pack, determine your capacity. With several middle packs, you can expand the capacity. Due to the modular and expandable concept, you never have too much storage space and you perfectly adapt the home battery to your personal needs.

The Battery vision is modular and therefore very flexible. Depending on your energy requirements and the number of solar panels, you build your ideal matrix of battery modules. Do you not yet know how much capacity is needed in your situation? Then you can choose to expand later if necessary.  

The Battery vision is constructed from components of the highest quality. As a result, a long service life can be expected, with corresponding top performance. Solarwatt guarantees a usable capacity of at least 80% after 10 years. The long service life is not only due to the high quality, but is also promoted by the intelligent control of the Battery vision Packs. Due to the self-learning software, the battery cells are never unnecessarily charged to 100% for a long time, which means that the battery cells experience minimal chemical stress and therefore last much longer and degrade less quickly.

Many appliances only require power for a short time or have a very high start-up current. Think of an induction stove, coffee maker or iron. When power is requested from an appliance, the Battery vision will deliver maximum output within 0.35 seconds if needed. Maximum output within such a short time is unique.  In practice, this means that as much solar power as possible is used instead of power from the grid.

To calculate the return, it is first determined how much you can earn in a year with a home battery if it is used for energy trading. This amount is determined based on dynamic energy prices from the past.

Next, the amount earned in the first year, divided by the total investment amount, and then multiplied by 100, to arrive at a percentage. Note! Past results are no guarantee for the future

In this “use case,” the premise is that the battery will ensure that you have access to the cheapest power all year round. The very cheapest power, is the power provided by your solar panels. Then the cheapest power, is the power you take off the grid, during the hour when your dynamic energy contract offers the lowest power rate.

The battery composition is chosen so that on an average day, surplus solar power is stored in the home battery for later use during the day and, in addition, the battery is filled with power from the grid, during the hour with the lowest price.

The total battery capacity covers your average daily energy needs, minus the power you consume directly from your solar panels. Does the battery capacity turn out to be too small in practice? It is always possible to add extra Battery packs afterwards.

Every home has a 1-phase or 3-phase connection to the electrical grid. This means that power enters your home through 1 power line or over 3 power lines. A 1-phase home battery can charge and discharge power over 1 power line and a 3-phase home battery does so over 3 power lines.

A 3-phase home battery can be chosen in a higher capacity because the electricity is distributed over 3 power lines. As a result, 3-phase home batteries can typically charge from and discharge to the grid faster. This can have great advantages when combined with a dynamic energy contract.

You can connect a 1-phase home battery to either a 1-phase or 3-phase main connection. A 3-phase home battery can only be connected to a 3-phase main connection. It can therefore be interesting to have your main connection adapted from a 1-phase to a 3-phase main connection for a limited amount of money. You can contact your grid operator for this.

The SOLARWATT Battery vision can also continue to supply power in the event of a power failure. The SOLARWATT Inverter vision has a separate backup output for this purpose, which can continue to supply power to all devices connected to it.
As a result, the refrigerator can stay on, your home can stay warm and your Internet connection can stay on. Which is nice with a power grid that is expected to become more unstable in the coming years, resulting in more power outages.

The SOLARWATT Battery vision is one of the safest home batteries available. During the development of the Battery vision, careful consideration was given to safety in all areas:

  • The chosen cell technology LiFePO4 is the safest type of lithium ion battery. This cell technology has better thermal and structural stability. It can withstand very high temperatures without decomposing, it is not prone to “thermal runaway” and remains cool at room temperature. Battery cells also remain stable under short-circuit or hard impact.
  • Battery management measures real-time temperature, voltage and current of the battery cells. If values become too high, the system automatically shuts down.
  • The home battery has a robust aluminum casing and an insulation layer is provided between the casing and the cells. This prevents any incident from spreading fire and will prevent explosion.
  • The enclosure is IP65 rated, which means it provides perfect protection against the penetration of dust, salt and water jets.
  • Data security is well established. The same security standard is used as in the banking world and all data is stored on servers in Europe.
  • The SOLARWATT Battery vision is subjected to much more stringent security testing than required by law for ultimate security.
